Amniocentesis Not Linked To Miscarriage

Sometimes pregnant women over age 35 contemplate the idea of getting an amniocentesis to check for chromosome abnormalities in the developing baby.  While this procedure is quite safe, there has always been a reportedly small risk of miscarriage, which prompts many women to decline the test.  A recent study suggests that this risk factor doesn't exist, and that having an amniocentesis does not increase the chance of having a miscarriage at all.  More..
