Rich Couples Choose Infertility Treatment

It's sad but not surprising to learn that couples who are trying to get pregnant base their treatment decisions on matters such as insurance coverage and income.  The data confirms that those with higher incomes, are much more likely to pursue more expensive treatment options, such as IVF.

By comparing these treatment options with information about the women’s income and insurance, Staniec and Webb found that low-income women were only 65 percent as likely as their richer counterparts to seek help for infertility.
